Mt. Jackson is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. It has a past that is full of history and culture. Originally named Mt. Pleasant, the name of the town was changed to honor Andrew Jackson who was a frequent visitor in his travels from Washington D.C. to his home in Tennessee. The area is full of historic buildings, several of which served as Confederate and Union Army field hospitals during the Civil War.
The Mt. Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of the heritage of the town, the surrounding areas and the many businesses that call Mt. Jackson home. Mt. Jackson is a rich blend of the old and new.
The objective of the Mt. Jackson Chamber is to preserve the heritage of the town's history, encourage tourists to visit our bountiful attractions and promote growth for our businesses and town with new ideas, seasonal activities and community involvement.
